Hearing Aid Bank
Since 2001, Hearing Link has been operating a hearing aid bank for people who would not be able to access hearing aid services due to cost and being outside of the criteria for supported hearing aid services.
Hearing Link Tasmania provides a service which is specifically designed to assist people who have a low income but do not meet the criteria of the Commonwealth Hearing Services Program and who need the assistance of hearing aids.
Hearing Link Tasmania works with Eastern Audiology Services who assess and fit the hearing aids.
Eligibility Criteria
- The client must have a health care card or;
- A taxable income yearly income of less than $39,115:65 for couples
- Single taxable income of $23,390:65
(This is the federal Government benchmark for low income.)
Costs
X1 BTE (Behind the ear) $350:00
X2 BTE $690:00
Referred client must also pay $53:00 for an initial appointment for a hearing test and assessment
Full costs to be paid by client to Eastern Audiology on collection of the aid/aids
