At present Hearing Link is lobbying and working towards offering the same kind of hearing support to people in Tasmania who live outside of the major urban areas.
While attending recent rural expo’s the frequent complain is ‘I can’t do anything about my hearing because it’s too far to travel to Hobart or Launceston to get a screening’
We at Hearing Link strongly believe that all Tasmanians should have access to hearing screening and support services. To that end we are planning some exciting developments during 2010, which should bring hearing tests to many Tasmanian towns that to date have not received any hearing support.
While we are contacting all rural community health centres asking for their support, we are also asking anyone in the Tasmanian Community that feels their location isn’t receiving the hearing support it deserves to contact us.
Hearing Link is particularly interested in working with the farming industry to ensure that farmers receive the best possible hearing support.
