Keep Life Fun: Hearing & Recreation

Don’t miss out on the fun!

A key focus of Hearing Link Tasmania’s work is to ensure that people with hearing loss can participate in and enjoy all aspects of community life. We believe that having a hearing loss shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the things you like to do.

Hearing Link Tasmania, in partnership with the Tasmanian Deaf Society, works to promote equal access to arts and culture events happening in Tasmanian cities and towns. For example, people with hearing loss shouldn’t feel excluded from the fun and excitement of going to the theatre, watching a film at the cinema or taking a tour of a public gallery.

To find out more about how we’re working to improve access to theatres, cinemas and public venues, please use the menu on the left side of the screen.

You can also find out how your enjoyment of your favourite hobbies can be enhanced by using assistive listening devices and hearing protection equipment. If you have any questions about any of the recreational activities listed in this section of the website, or if we’ve missed your favourite hobby, contact us today to ask us any questions.

And let’s keep the fun times rolling…

At Hearing Link Tasmania we also strive to make community events safe for everyone by making sure that recreational activities don’t expose people to high levels of noise.

Participating in noisy sports and hobbies, attending live music events or going out to discos and nightclubs – these are just some of the recreational activities that can lead to hearing loss in individuals. To find out more information about any of these issues, please use the menu on the left side of the screen.
